The Tampico Area Historical Society encompasses parts of Whiteside County and Bureau County in Illinois. Focus is on Tampico, Hume Twp., Hahnaman/Deer Grove, & Prophetstown in Whiteside County & Yorktown & Thomas in Bureau County.

I am doing research for a friend and am looking for ancestors and decendents of brothers Fredrick and Earl Foy. I believe both are buried in the Tampico cemetery. Fred had a son named Frank(1905) married to Zelma Jacobs(1902-03). I am particularly looking parents and siblings of Fred and Earl. Also children of Fred. I do not think that Earl ever married.

My grandmother was from the Tampico area. I have a picture of a group of young women taken approx.1910-1912. two of the women are identified- Temple Shere (my grandmother) and Hazel Foy. My great,great grandmother was Sarah Jones Dow. I have information that says her aunt & uncle were Mr.&Mrs. George Foy. If any of these Foy's are who you are looking for please post another message. I have an Earl H. FOY who was the son of Morrill and Minnie nee VanDREW FOY. I don't show a Fredrick sibling for the Earl I have. His siblings were Frank Morrill FOY and William FOY. Earl, Frank and William were born 1879-1888.
William FOY married Grace M. HUNTER (see MAYNARD message line in this message board).
Frank married Grace Mae DENISON.
Earl H. married Grace A. RENNER
(Ok, how many brothers ALL marry women named GRACE!!!!)

My name is Ralph Ledingham Foy, Jr., fa. is Ralph, Sr., grfa is edward Martin Foy; his fa is John Foy, b.1820, Napoli, New York; his father, William Foy, b. Vermont, 178.8. My name is Ralph Ledingham Foy, Jr. I go back to the marriage of Ruth Morrill and Wiolliam Foy. Ruth Morrill comes down from the famous Abraham Morrill family; her predescors were Sarge Morrill, Ezekiel Morrill, Jr., Ezekiel Sr., Jacob {marries Susannah Whittier} Morrill, Abe Morrill, etc. William Foy, b. 1788 in Vermont is the father of John Foy, b. 1820, Napoli, New York. I am trying to go above William Foy, and try9ig to go down to present descendents of William Foy, John Foy, George Foy, Daniel Foy, Almon Foy, Burdette Foy, Freeman Foy,Angie Foy, etc. Does anyonhe out there know these people? A David Foy seems to be active on the internet Foy famioy forum at present. I think I need to talk to him.

Have you communicated with Brian Sanders or investigated his website? He lists 135 FOYs - However, he shows a different dob for Wm. than you.

I am ralph ledingham foy, jr., rlfoyjr@gmail.com, down from bill foy marries ruth morrill. bill's son john a. foy produces edward martin foy, my grfa., who produces my dad, ralph ledingham foy, sr., who produces your's truly, ralph, jr. No one in the fay clan seems able to get above bill foy, b. vermont, 1788. Today, I stumbled across siblings of bill foy:Benjamin; David; jonathan; Samuel;and ruth foy, the latter marrying one Daniel S. Thorp in Napoli, NY> I am brand new with this computer/internet stuff, so progress is trial and error, no mentors. Do you foy guys know how to get above bill, 1788 vt., perhaps via his listed siblings? I tried to send a message to: "foy:sanders family:william foy, 1791-1869", or to "gena saunders" at "kengena@swbell.net". A sure cousin of mine is David Foy, at chartertn.net. On "http:www.rootsweb.com/swiggle marknycattar/1879history/napoli.htm. This stuff is greek to me!! My local Mormon church tentatively got me above bill foy, but led to Scotland people. My grfa, ed foy reportedly told his family that his father's people came from Ireland. Where do I go from here?
