Since the media blew us off (as usual), this may be the only exposure the world has to our Memorial Service. Over 700 people in attendance! (more than Dixon or Eureka). The Memorial Service was held in the Tampico Middle School. Immediately following the service, there was a procession to Reagan Park for a 21-Gun Salute and a chorus of "GOD BLESS AMERICA" sung by the Tampico Community Choir and accompanied by the audience. The Procession was led by the Highland Guard Pipes & Drums, Rock Falls Fire Dept (contact: Duane Dickison, 28200 Logan Road, Rock Falls 61071) ; followed by the "Riderless Horse" (aka: Rebel), led by Kathy Pollack of Free Rein Farm, Prophestown, IL.
Refreshments were served at the Tampico Fire Dept.
