Ben" Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Johnson of Tampico, was inducted into the armed service in June, 1941, and was sent from Camp Grant, Rockford, to Camp Wolters, Texas. Because of the 28-year-old regulation he was released from service October 28, 1941. He was taken back into the service the early part of February, 1942, and was stationed first at Dayton, Ohio, being transferred from there to Camp Custer, Mich. He was returned to Dayton for a short time before being sent out of the country. He ha been overseas for five months, but his exact location is notknown. He was married to Maybelle Williams in November, 1941. They have a son, Bernard Vernon, Jr., born August 25, 1942. Mrs. Johnson and son make their home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Williams, northwest of Tampico.
