Lloyd and Amy celebrate their 60th anniversary, July 2, 2004.
Lloyd McElhiney and Alma "Amy" Caldwell were married on July 2, 1944 in Peoria. They are the parents of Todd (Trish) McElhiney of Mount Vernon, Steve McElhiney of Tampico and Beth Brondas of Troy, VA.
They have seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Staples of Sterling, Amanda (Nathan) Boettner of Forreston, Jaleigh McElhiney of Mount Vernon, Gary (Jess) McElhiney of Deer Grove, Greg McElhiney of Prophetstown, Robbie Denoy of Virginia and Wendy (Terry) Scholls of Argyle, Wisconsin and seven great-grandchildren.
Lloyd was a teacher in Carlinsville, farmed and was manager of Tampico Farmers Elevator for 23 years. He also was a pilot during WWII. Amy was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom. Both currently volunteer running the birthplace of President Ronald Reagan in Tampico.
