Patrick and Ellen Daly came to Illinois from Clinton, IA in 1880. They bought land in Hahnaman Township from John and Maggie McCabe. They had three children. James, Mary and John Daly. They farmed till 1900 and then moved to town.
John Daly served as mayor of Tampico and was also manager of the Farmers Mutual Telephone Co. James Daly served as village Constable for a number of years.
Ellen Daly of Chicago and Cecilia Hurd of Tampico are grandchildren of Patrick and Ellen Daly.
Others who attend Sr. Mary's Church at that time were families of Michael Shecan; the Murphy brothers and sisters; Pat, Jim and Nell McCormick; Drews; Schauff; Casper Schwanberger; Walls; Fr. David Murphy's parents; Charlie Darby; Tom and Pat Kelly; Keefe, Tahagen; Collins; and Cooneys.
