In the 1900 census we can identify Frank in Tampico, Whiteside, IL. He is a boarder, and his birthdate is given which is March, 1874. So that's him.
-----------------------
In the 1910 census we find this Frank Nelson family in Tampico, Whiteside, IL
Frank, Leona, and their 3 children plus Viva Smith, Leona's daughter by her first marriage. Viva is listed as a stepdaughter. Leona Bell [Love'] Smith Nelson's first husband was a Bert Smith. I don't know anything more about him, but they divorced. Scandalous in those days! My mother in law remembered Viva but they didn't keep in touch. Leona Bell Love died quite young and there was a very flowery obituary about her.
