Deer Grove: - Frederick D. "Firtz" Dobbeke, 58, of Box 28 Hub Street, Deer Grove, died Aug. 20, 1992 at CGH Medical Center, Sterling.
Prayer services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Garland Funeral Home, Tampico, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tampico, with the Rev. Vincent J. Shindelar, pastor, officating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established.
Mr. Dobbeke was born Nov. 8, 1933 in Ohio, the son of Otto and Olive (Foltz) Dobbeke. He married Clara Heeren April 11, 1953, at St. Mary Church, Tampico. He was employed as a crane operator at the Northwestern Steel and Wire 14-inch mill for the past 20 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tampico, the Men's Club of the church, and the Steelworkers of America. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife; seven daughters, Mrs. Frank (Kathleen) Yaklich of Rock Falls, Mrs. Steven (Pamela) Tobler of Rochelle, Julie Partridge Dobbeke of Sterling, Mrs. Michael (Laurie) McCulloch of Liberty, Mo., Mrs. Lewis (Cheryl) Howell of Vista, Calif., Mrs. James (Margery) Crawford of Grandview, Mo., and Mrs. Ted (Angela) Reiter of Sandy Creek, N.Y.; one son, Timothy of Deer Grove; 15 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Harm (Freda) Ludwig of Prophetstown; two brothers, Otto Jr. of Tampico and Arthur of Wichita, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
