William G. Helgason

            PROPHETSTOWN – William G. Helgason, 75 of 310 Park Avenue, Prophetstown died Satruday, June 28, 2008.

            He was born on July 20, 1932 in Clarion, IA the son of Charles and Elsie M. (Anderson) Helgason.  He served in the US Army Aircorps during the Korean War.  He married the former Bonnie G. Griffin on March 16, 1963.

            Surviving is his wife, Bonnie; two sons, William Hegason III of Port Byron and brad Helgason of Milan; two sisters, Karen Brei of Geneseo and Evelyn Merkel of Chicago; a half brother John Helgason of Moline; three grandchildren and his faithful companion Hannah.

            He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles.

            At his request there will be no funeral services and cremation has taken place.  Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home in Prophetstown, IL.
