Prophetstown: - Myrtle M. Fisk, 87, of 203 Locust St., Prophetstown, died Monday, Jan. 1, 1996, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at Gardner Funeral Home, Prophetstown, with the Rev. M. Melvin Hough, Pastor of the First Congregational Church officiating. Burial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Ashton Church Cemetery, Mingo, Iowa. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to the First Congregational Church, Prophetstown, or the Ashton Church, Mingo, Iowa.
Mrs. Fisk was born June 2, 1908 in Mingo, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Clara (Skinner) Tiffany. She married Ed Osteen July 16, 1931. He died Feb. 2, 1935. She then married Karl McDougall Feb 14, 1948. He died April 7, 1952. She then married Harold B. Fisk Dec. 10, 1965. He died Sept. 19, 1981.
She graduated from Collins Iowa High School in 1926. She and her husband started a bakery in Prophetstown in 1931. She sold it after he died. She also had worked as a retail clerk for sevral Prophetstown merchants. She was as member of the First Congregational Church, Prophetstown.
Survivors include three stepchildren, Mary Lois (George) Bowen of Silvis, Marjorie (Stan) Moews of Morrison, and David (Anita) Fisk of Prophetstown; 11 stepgrandchildren; several step great grandchildren; several step great great grandchildren; one sister, Alta (Clint) Laudner of Iowa Falls, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
