WM. F. BURDEN ANSWERED CALL
William F. Burden, life-long resident of this community, passed away last Wednesday evening, Nov. 21, at the age of 89. He had been in failing health for some time but had only been seriously ill for four days.
The rosary was recited at the Parent chapel Friday evening.
Services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. from St. Mary's chruch of which he was a member. Rev. A. M. Weitekamp officiated.
Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery with William Trierweiler of Hinsdale, Gordon O'Neil of Deer Grove, John Burden of Erie, Martin Burden of Oio, George Miller and Dale Kelly serving as pallbearers.
William Francis Burden was born in Fairfield township, March 1, 1867, son of Thomas and Eleanor Burden. He received his education in the Fairfield and Tampico schools and Dixon college at Dixon.
In 1900 he was married to Margaret Harty of Sheffield. They spent their entire married life in Tampico where he was identified with the merchandising business. He was employed in the Raynor & Clyne, W. H. Harrison, A. E. Bennett and H. C. Pitney general stores foreyars and for several years was in business in partnership with his brother Charles.
He is survived by one sster, Elizabeth Grama of Kenlworth, and a number of nephew and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maargaret; a son, William, who died in infancy; three brotehrs, George, Charles and John; and three sisters, Maary Clyne, Emma McCabe and Nelliw Kelly.
Relatives attending the services from a distance included Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Graham of Kenilworth; Vincent and John Burden of Erie; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Miller of Harmon; Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Langford of Walnut; Mr. and Mrs. George McCabe and daughters of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Harold McCabe of Rodcford; Wm. McCabe of Downers Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Trierweler of Hinsdale; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Burden of Rochester, Minn.; Paul and John Burden of Clinton, Ia.
