MRS. ALICE YARDE LAID AT REST
Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Yarde were held in the Parent chapel Friday afternoon. Rev. Stockton Swaney, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated.
Appropriate vocal recordings were played during the service.
Burial was in the Tampico Memorial cemetery with six grandsons, Aaron Knox, Ralph Knox Jr., Archie Yarde Jr., Kenneth Knox, George Knox and Ellis Nealy, serving as pallbearers.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ackeberg and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Anderson were in charge of the flowers.
Alice Estella Yarde was born in Henderson, Ill., Feb. 29, 1864 and passed away in the Riverview nursing home in Rock Falls last Wednesday morning after a two year illness. She was 92 years old.
She attended the Henderson schools. In 1883 she was married to John W. Yarde of Galesburg.
She had made her home in this community for 52 years and was a member of the Tampico Methodist church.
She leaves six sons, I. N. of Yates City; Archie A., Sr., and Thomas, Tampico; Harpie, Rock Falls, Edgar of Moline and Gifford of Manteno; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Knox of Rock Falls and Mrs.Steve Domkoski of Rockford;31 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; two half sisters, Mrs. Martha Muir of Canton and Mrs. Pearl Hendricks of DeLong; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John W. Yarde, in 1934; two daughters, Ruth in infancy and Mrs. Zora Nealy; three sons, George in infancy, Frank and Willard; one brother, Alvin; three half-brothers, John, Tom and Harry Wilstead; two half-sisters, Mrs. Eliza Stickle and Mrs. Mary Gold.
