BLANCH  M.  (Beebe)  BROOKS

 

Prophetstown: - Blanch M. Brooks, 90, of 10 Grave St., Prophetstown, died Wednesday Nov. 6, 1996 at CGH Medical Center.

 

Funeral servies will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gardner Funeral Home, Prophetstown, with the Rev. Carson Daniel Lauffer, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at

Leon Cemetery, rural Prophetstown.  Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established.

 

Mrs. Brooks was born July 11, 1906, in Hooppole, the daughter of Samuel and Nellie (Sollars) Beebe.  She married Russell C. Brooks on June 3, 1923, in Prophetstown.  He died in 1965. She was educated in Prophetstown schools. She was emmployed at Climco, Morrison for several years.  She was a member of Camp 516, the Royal Neighbors of America, Prophetstown, the Social Hour Club, and a former member of the Geneseo Saddle Club, and Flying Hooves, Rock Falls.

 

Survivors include two sons, Marshall (Donna) Brooks of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Gary (Linda) Brooks of Walnut, four grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Duane Brooks in 1984; two sisters and one brother.
