Avondale, AZ - Carl "Mike" Nelson, 69 of Avondale, AZ, formerly of Tampico, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at Banner Estrella Medical Center, Phoenix. Arrangements were completed by the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.

Carl "Mike" Nelson, 69, formerly of Tampico, IL, died November 14, 2008 at Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.
Mr. Nelson was born December 20, 1938. He was the son of Gordon and Anna Mary "Donnelly" Nelson. He attended Tampico schools.
He served in the US Navy from 1956 to 1962. He was a truck driver for Knight Transportation.
He is survived by his wife,Jan, three sons, Michael, Christopher, and Rex and four grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Jim of Rock Falls, Richard of Deer Grove, IL and Bill of Florida. He was preceded by his mother and father and 1 brother, Steve.
Funeral services and military rites were accorded at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
