LOIS M. (Taber) KINER
Prophetstown: - Lois M. Kiner, 66, of 5170 Kiner Road, Prophetstown, died July 15, 1994 at Sterling Pavilion.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Congregational Church, Prophetstown, with the Rev. Melvin Hough officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Gardner Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to First Congregational Church.
Mrs. Kiner was born Sept. 5, 1927 in Prophetstown, the daughter of William L. and Grace (Paschal) Taber. She was educated in Prophetstown and graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1945. She married Roland D. Kiner July 14, 1946, in Prophetstown. Prior to her marriage she was employed in the office of the Illinois Department of Registration and Education in Springfield. She later served as manager of the Prophetstown Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. for 21 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of First Congregatonal Church, the Women's Fellowship, a member of the choir for many years, a member of the Prophetstown American Legion Auxiliary and the Prophet Hills Country Club.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jeffrey (Pen) Kiner of Tampa, Fla., and Jon (Judy) Kiner of Elyria, Ohio; six grandchildren; and one brother, Nelson (Phyllis) Taber of Cambridge.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Woolums.
