Funeral services for Mrs. Martin KUEPKER were conducted by Rev. C.J. Gess Tuesday afternoon at the Lutheran church in Yorktown. Mrs. Homer Steers and Mrs. Wayne Johnson, accompanied by Mrs. C.J. Gess, sang. Casket attendants were George Sandrock, Henry Brandau, Marius Mathis, Richard Doty, George Klockenga and Lorie Marine. Internment was in the Yorktown cemetery.
Emma Jahnke Kuepker was born June 24, 1878, in Put-in-Bay, Ohio, and when a small girl, moved with her parents to Chicago where she lived most of her life with the exception of about 15 years which she spent in the vicinity of Yorktown. She was married April 8, 1898 to Martin Kuepker of Chicago at Chicago. She passed away Saturday morning, April 5, at the family home in Chicago. Mrs.K Is survived by her husband and four children: Arthur, Henry and Alice (Mrs. Clark Rogers) of Yorktown and Raymond of Sheffield. Surving also, among other relatives, are 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Dora Gleich, one brother, Arthur Jahnke, and a number of nieces and nephews, all of Chicago. Her parents, one sister and two rothers peceded her in death. She was a faithful follower of the Lutheran faith and attended St. Lukes Lutheran church whenever her health permitted. Mrs. Kuepker was a good wife and a kind loving mother whose every thought was for her home and family.
