John Anderson, 81, Dies Friday Evening
 
Prophetstown:- John August Anderson, 81, died Friday evening at his home in Portland Township.
 
Funeral services have been scheduled for Monday at 3 p.m. at the Gardner Chapel, the Rev. L.S. Anderson to officiate. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
 
Friends may visit the Gardner Chapel on Sunday evening from 7 to 9.
 
John Anderson  was born on April 24, 1887, in Prophetstown where he has lived his entire life.  He has lived in his last residence for the past 29 years.  He was the son of John A and Augusta (Gomere) Anderson.  He married Katherine Foley of Clinton, Iowa, in Davenport in 1920. He was a farmer by occupation.
 
He is survived by three brothers, Axel, Arthur, and Joseph, all of Prophetstown, and one sister, Mrs. Harold W. (Sigrid) Johnson of Rock Island.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, 1939, and four brothers.
