JOHN  HENRY  BRANDAU

John H. Brandau Of Tampico Dies, Rites On Sunday 

Tampico: - John Henry Brandau, 79, of Fairfield Townshnip, died this morning in Community General Hospital, Sterling, after an extended illness. 

Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Yorktown, with Pastor Joel O. Rustad officiating.  The burial will be in Yorktown Cemetery.  There is visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Schmitt Chapel. A memorial has been established for St. Paul Lutheran Church, Yorktown. 

John Henry Brandau was born Dec. 25, 1891 in Rothersburg, Germany, the son of Frederick and Maria Brandau. He had lived in the Tampico vicinity since coming to the United States at the age of 11.  He was educated in Germany and in the Thomas schools and was married Dec. 26, 1912 to Emma Martha Berge at the home of her parents in Fairfield Township. 

Mr. Brandau was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Yorktown and was active in the church and in civic affairs of Fairfield Township.  He had served as church treasurer for many years. 

Surviving are his wife and two sons, Clarence and Leo of Fairfield Township, a granddaughter, Mrs. Ronald (Kathryn) Kelly and two great grandchildren, Steven and Karla Kelly of Fairfield Township.  He also leaves two brothers and two sisters, Fred of Ohio, August of Tampico, Mrs. Wayne (Annie) Brophy of Dixon and Mrs. Dorothea Hazzard of Rockford.
