Rites For Kenneth Nielsen Saturday
Tampico: - Funeral services for Kenneth Jorgen Nielsen, 57, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Yorktown. The Rev. Joel O. Rustad will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park Cemetery, Sterling. There is visitation after 4 p.m. this Friday in the Schmitt Chapel. A memorial has been established in memory of Mr. Nielsen who died unexpectedly Thursday morning.
Kenneth Jorgen Nielsen was born July 6, 1916 in Tampico Township, the son of Nels J. and Marie Nielsen. He was educated in the Tampico schools and was united in marriage with Olive B. White, Oct. 11, 1944 in England. He had resided most of his life in the Tampico vicinity. Mr. Nielsen was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Yorktown, the American Legion Post at Hooppole and served with the U.S. Army during World War Two.
Surviving with Mrs. Nielsen are two sons and two daughters, John of Rock Falls, Roger of Tampico, Mrs. Russell (Monica) Coers Jr. of Rock Falls and Mrs. Douglas (Brenda) Adams of Tampico; his mother, Mrs. Marie G. Niesel of Rock Falls; eight grandchildren and one sister and one brother, Mrs. George Clover Moore of Rock Falls and Henry Nielsen of Tampico. His father preceded in death in June 1947.
