Glenn Hopkins, Harmon, Succumbs
Walnut: - Glenn Hopkins, 87, Harmon, died Monday morning at Orchard Glen Nursing Home in Dixon, following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at the Ross Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Eugene Spradling, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Glenn Hopkins was born March 14, 1885, at Thayer County, Neb., the son of William and Emma Anderson Hopkins. He married Mary Jane Peach on Feb. 16, 1913. He farmed in the Walnut, Harmon area for many years.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Elwin (Luella) Zumdahl, Mt. Morris; Mrs. Henry (Edna) Stehl, Dixon; Mrs. Anton (Vera) Janick, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. Merle (Marylousie) Zehr, Pontiac; one son, Clarence, Sterling; 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Oscar Hagan, Eureka, and Mrs. Nellis Hardesty, Dixon; and one brother, Joseph, Walnut.
He was preceded in death by his wife, three sons, four brothers and one sister.
