Ralph Winkler Of Prophetstown Dies 

Prophetstown: - Ralph Winkler, 69, died Friday afternoon at his home in rural Prophetstown.  There will be visitation at the Gardner Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Gardner Chapel, with Rev. H. C. Hatton, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. The burial will be in the Leon Cemetery.   A memorial has been established to the First Church of the Nazarene of Sterling. 

Ralph Winkler was born March 12, 1903, in Prophetstown Township, the son of John and Hannah Noon Winkler. He was educated in the Leon schools and was a member of the First church of the Nazarene in Sterling.  He was united in marriage with Hazel Lane of the Leon community at her home Feb. 11, 1925. They resided in the Hooppole, Leon and Yorktown communities. 

Surviving with Mrs. Winkler, are three daughters, Carol Winkler of Morris, Gladys Winkler of Sterling and Mrs. William (Harriet) Brown of Waterloo, Iowa.  He also leaves three grandchildren, one brother and two sisters, Ray Winkler and Mrs. Martha Matthews of Prophetstown; and Dorothy Winkler of Sterling.  He was preceded in death by a son and one brother and one sister, Harold Winkler and Mrs. Myrtle Washburn.
