Funeral Rites Held On Monday - George Brinkman Buried in Yorktown Cemetery
Prophetstown: - The funeral of George Brinkman was held Monday afternoon in the Yorktown Lutheran Church, followed by burial in the Yorktown Cemetery. During the service conducted by Rev. Theodore Dierks of Morrison, Mrs. Benters of Morrison sang, "Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "Nearer My God To Thee." Mrs. Rena Dierks was at the organ.
The pallbearers were Alfred McCaslin and Leslie Black of Prophetstown, Irvin Adkins, Ambrose Kroenlein, Henry Stanley and Paul Graden of Nokomis. There were many beautiful floral tributes.
Those from a distance attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bunkman, Mrs. Peter Yenkanskis, Margaret and Vernon Brinkman, Irvin Adkin, Henry Stanley, Ambrose Kroenlein, Paul Graden of Nokomis, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Herbold and family of Ohlman, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Husman, Alexander White, Miss Florence White and Mrs. Conrad Johnson of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. John Needham of Sterling.
George William Brinkman was born August 5, 1905 near Ohlman and passed away June 2, 1933 at the age of 27 years, six months and 25 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Arvilla Buckwald in 1927. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife and one son, Eugene, five years old; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brinkman of Nokomis, three brothers, Richard, Herman and Raymond Brinkman and two sisters, Mrs. Peter Yankouskis aned Margaret Brinkman of Nokomis and many other relatives and friends.
