Mabel Hamilton

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Mabel A. Hamilton, 93, of Fort Wayne, Ind., formerly of Prophetstown, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne, Ind.

Mrs. Hamilton was born Aug. 12, 1916, in Lyndon Township, the daughter of John W. and Olive M. (Paddock) Ballard. She married Le Roy Hamilton on Oct. 8, 1936, in Rock Falls. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1981. She was a member of Prophetstown United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Frank L. (Marian) Hamilton of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Jane Hamilton of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Alta Koeppe of Corvallis, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by three sons, Terry Hamilton and two in infancy.

Private service will be Saturday at Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home, Prophetstown, with the Rev. Insun Yoon, pastor of Prophetstown United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Erie Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

A memorial has been established.
