Eileen J. Detra, 95, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan, Prophetstown, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at the home.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Prophetstown United Methodist, with visitation at 10 a.m. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Arrangements are by Bosma-Gibson, Prophetstown.
She was born Feb. 14, 1915, in Prophetstown, to William and Grace Johnson. She married Paul W. Detra Aug. 21, 1937. He died Aug. 2, 1986.
Surviving are daughter, Virginia Giffin, Prophetstown; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Virginia (Neil) Giffin of Prophetstown; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Eileen A. Detra of Prophetstown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; one son, Neil Detra; one sister, Leota Bender; two brothers, Robert in infancy and William Johnson.

The Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home, 320 Lafayette Street, Prophetstown, IL, is in charge of arrangements.

Eileen was born February 14, 1915, in Prophetstown, IL, to William and Grace (Maxfield) Johnson. She attended Prophetstown Grade Schools and graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1933. She married Paul W. Detra on August 21, 1937, in Prophetstown. He died August 2, 1986. Eileen was a homemaker and was employed with the Moline Dispatch for about ten years. Eileen was the oldest living member of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church, where she participated in the Mary Circle. Eileen was a Cub Scout leader, member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Harmon Swinging Square Dance Club.
