David Alan Rasmussen, age 55 of 110 Park Avenue Prophetstown, Illinois died Wednesday at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, Illinois.

He was born on May 3, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Richard and Nora (Slight) Rasmussen. He was united in marriage to Mary Baylin on September 16 1985 in Kane County. He was a musician and music teacher during his lifetime. Music and family was his life.

He is survived by his wife Mary of Prophetstown, Illinois; one daughter Davina Rasmussen of Poplar Grove, Illinois; one grandson David Michael Rasmussen; his father Richard Rasmussen of Snomish, Washington; one brother Donald Rasmussen of Lake Bluff, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one son Adam.

Cremation rites were accorded. Celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date. A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN HIS MEMORY TO HIS GRANDSON’S COLLEGE EDUCATION IN LIEU OF FLOWERS.
