Margaret M. Boelens

Margaret M. Boelens, 89, Polo, died on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at KSB Hospital, Dixon.

She was born on Feb. 26, 1921 in Jessup, Iowa, the daughter of Rene and Madeline (De Blaere) Maes.

She married Marcheil Boelens in 1941 in Tampico. He predeceased her.

Boelens was a homemaker. She enjoyed keeping in contact with many pen pals and did so throughout her life.

She is survived by three sons, Joe (Vicki) Boelens, Polo, Sam (Kathy) Boelens, Polo, and Pat (Sheila) Boelens, Salinas, Calif.; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Shirley) Maes, Prophetstown.

She was preceased by her parents; husband; a sister, Mary Pyse; and three brothers, Mike, Art, and Hank Maes.

Graveside services were held July 12 at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tampico, with Deacon Bill Lemmer officiating.

Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tampico.

Arrangements were completed by Polo Family Funeral Home.
