Former School Teacher Dies In Thornville, O.
George V. Clum, 88, for 10 years superintendent of schools in Tampico where he retired from teaching in 1928, and also a former school superintendent at Prophetstown and Mt. Carroll, died Saturday, March 22 at his home in Thornville, Ohio. Funeral rites on Wednesday at Thornville were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Cantlin of Rock Falls.
Mr. Clum was graduated from Ohio State University and received his master's degree from the University of Wisconsin. He taught school for 36 yars. During his residence in Thornville, Mr. Clum was instrumental in organizing a library and furnishing many of the books. He is survived by three children, George Jr., of Short Hills, N.J., Mrs. Evelyn Hallahan of Oakland, Calif., and Miss Florence at home. His wife preceded him in death several years ago.
