Helen T. Church, 83, formerly of Tampico and Prophetstown, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at Heartland Nursing Home, Henry, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tampico, with the Rev. Louis Tosto, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Tampico. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9-10:30 a.m. at Garland Funeral Home, Tampico. A memorial has been established in her memory to St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Helen was born on Dec. 28, 1926, in Dixon, Ill., the daughter of James Sterling and Alice Fagan Burke. She was united in marriage to Roland W. Sibley in Tampico in 1951, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1971. She then married Malven Church in 1986, in Prophetstown, and he preceded her in death on May 1, 2002.

She worked at Rock River Lumber and Grain in Prophetstown for a number of years and farmed in the Prophetstown area several years. She was a member of St. Catherine's Church in Prophetstown and liked bowling and playing cards with her friends.

She is survived by four sons, Jim (Diane) Sibley, Chillicothe, Ill., Joe (Renee) Sibley, Fort Wayne, Ind., John (Barbara) Sibley, St. Charles, Ill., Jeff (Janice) Sibley, Barrington, Ill.; stepson, Tom (Shelley) Church and stepdaughter, Pam (Bob) Stout, Prophetstown; grandchildren, Allie and Reena Sibley, Beth Schueler, Brandi Laughlin, Dana Sibley and Abby and Emily Sibley, Rob Kalina and Laura (Sergio) Elizalde; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and four brothers.
