Laroy W. Wescott Succumbs Saturday
 
Laroy W. Wescott, 78, 412 1/2 W. 10th St., Sterling, died Saturday at Community General Hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Schmitt Funeral Chapel at Tampico, with the Rev. George Beam, pastor of the New Bedford Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.   Coroner John Ardapple will conduct an inquiry in his death.
 
Laroy W. Wescott was born April 28, 1893 in New Bedford, the son of Henry and Mrs. Baster Wescott.  He attended school at New Bedford. He was united in marriage to Emagene Wilkkiser, Jan. 11, 1915 at Morrison.  The couple lived for 41 years in Tampico and later in the Sterling-Rock Falls area.  He had worked for several years in the local factories and had been on the Fire Department at Tampico for many years.  He served in the National Guard during World War I and had been in the draying business in Tampico for many years.
 
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Elizabeth) Fotzler of Prophetstown; two sons, Earkle L., Rock Falls and Lewis H., RR 4, Sterling; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Norman, Rock Falls;  Mrs. Luella Hardesty, Walnut;  Mrs. Merle (Evelyn) Lathrop, Rock Falls and Mrs. Glen (Mabel) Rogers, Tampico; one brother, Clarence Wescott, Rosenburg, Ore.; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one son.
