CATHERINE (Sehfosser) MERIDAN
Walnut: - Catherine Meridan, 95, formerly of Walnut died Wednesday evening at Walnut Manor Nursing Home. Funeral prayer services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in
St. John's Catholic Church in Walnut with Rev. William Harbert. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Henry. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with the family present from 7-9 p.m. and a scripture service at 7 p.m. A memorial has been established in her memory to Walnut Manor Nursing Home.
Catherine was born on Feb. 4, 1891 in Henry, the daughter of Wimer and Anna Mary Stadel Sehfosser. On Oct. 5, 1909 she was united in marriage to Joseph Merdian in Henry and he preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 1953. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Walnut, the Mothers of World War II and an honorary member of the Farm home Club.
Survivors include three sons, Ralph Merdian of Peoria, Harold of Tampico, and Floyd of Polo, one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Roberta) Burkey of Walnut, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
