E. B. Cummings Dies Suddenly - Stricken With Heart Attack Tuesday Afternoon

Tampico: - Emmitt B. Cummings, aged 67 years, a well known and highly esteemed resident of this city, passed away suddenly from a heart attack at 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. He had gone to the farm to do some work and while on his way home driving his car with a neighbor, Gus Johnson, Mr. Cummings was stricken and died.  A doctor and nurse were called, but death occurred before they arrived.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the home, Rev. F. T. Palm of the Methodist Church officiating.  Interment will be made in the Tampico Cemetery.

Emmitt B. Cummings was born November 14, 1864 in Yorktown and lived in this vicinity all his life. After retiring from the farm he moved to the village of Tampico and had since resided here.  He was united in marriage to Luna C. Cummings, December 25, 1887.  She is the only survivor.

The deceased was a member of the Modern Woodman of America and the Masonic Order.
