Funeral of Roy M. Hockman Thursday
 
Tampico: - Funeral services for Roy Martin Hockman, 58, who died unexpectedly Monday south of Walnut, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Tampico United Methodist Church. The Rev. Raymond Good will officiate and burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
 
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Schmitt Funeral Chapel. Masonic services will be conducted at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel.
 
Roy Martin Hockman was born near Morrison Aug. 30, 1913, the son of Roy L. and Lydia Phillips Hockman. He was educated in Lanark and married Juanita Witmer Marach 12, 1935 in Morrison.  He had resided in the Tampico vicinity the past 37 years. He was a member of the Tampico United Methodist Church, Yorktown Lodge 655 AF and AM, Tampico Volunteer Fire Department and Tebala Shrine in Rockford.
 
For many years Roy Hockman operated a restaurant and also a grocery store in Tampico. For the past 16 years he had been employed by the State of Illinois.
 
Surviving is the widow, Mrs. Juanita Hockman of Tampico and three brothers and two sisters, Robert and Wayne of Mt. Carroll, Milton of Arizona and Mrs. Theodore (Maxine) Buckwalter and Mrs. Roger (Carol) Kallenbach of Morrison. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Larrry in 1964 and one sister, Mrs. Irene Johnson.
