Rites Held For Mrs. C. Steinke - Had Been Resident of Deer Grove 36 Years



Tampico: - Funeral service was held Wednesday morning in the Tampico St. Mary's Catholic Church for Mrs. Catherine Steinke, who passed away at her home in Deer Grove Sunday evening.  Mrs. Steinke, for 35 years a resident of Deer Grove, had been in poor health for several years, but her condition did not become serious until the last two months.



Rev. Fr. T. O. Maguire had charge of the rites. Casket attendants were:  John Welch, John McGuire, Frank O'Neil, Tom Cooney, John Schwamberger.



Obituary:



Catherine Peters, daughter of Peter and Wilhemina Peters, was born at Rutland, Ill., April 20, 1861, and passed away at Deer Grove Feb. 28, 1932.  On Jan. 10, 1880, she was united in marriage to Gustave Steinke of Rutland.  Eight children were born to this union, six of whom survive.  Mr. Steinke passed away in 1927.  Two sons, Charles and John, also preceded her in death.



Those remaining to mourn her loss are her six children, Agnes Green of Tampico, Sophia Welch of Galesburg, and Florence, Lawrence, Herbert, and Joe Steinke of Deer Grove;  three sisters, Mrs. Charles Schuler of Scott's Bluff, Neb., Mrs. Maubauch and Mrs. Mary Schmillen of Rutland, three brothers, Pete of Toluca, Charles of Dayton, Oregon, and William of Manson, Ia., 22 relatives and friends, who extend grandchildren, and a host of others their sympathy to the bereaved family.
