Deer Grove: - Mrs. Margaret A. Henrekin, 65 of Route One, Deer Grove, died Thursday morning in her home
Funeral prayer services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tampico with Rev. James Trannel officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Tampico. Visitation will be today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Mrs. Henrekin was born on July 20, 1921 in Dixon, the daughter of Harry and Pearl Starks Klapprodt. On Aug. 7, 1936, she was united in marriage to Charles Henrekin in Dixon and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1971. She farmed in the Deer Grove area during her lifetime and drove a school bus in Deer Grove for 20 years. She also worked at the Snack Bar at Community General Hospital in Sterling for several years and was employed at National Manufacturing in Sterling for about 10 years until retiring in 1977. The deceased was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tampico and the Altar & Rosary Society of the church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Walters of Glendale, Ariz. and Mrs. Mark (Mary) Wetzell of Tampico; one son, James Henrekin of Deer Grove; 12 grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Marie Sheeley and Mrs. Lucille Conkrite, both of Dixon, and Mrs. John (Lorraine) Haenni of Sterling.
She was preceded in death by one daughter and several brothers.
