Marjorie Mabel Egert of Carthage, Mo., formerly of Prophetstown, Ill., passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011.
Marjorie was born Jan. 24, 1927, in Tampico, Ill., the daughter of George and Darlene (Anderburg) Forward. She married Lowell Egert on Dec. 25, 1944. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2004.
Marjorie was a member of the Erie Christian Church, Erie, Ill., and attended the First Christian Church, Carthage. She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm, as well as working as a floral designer, window dresser and gift shop owner, during her life. Their Christmas light display brought thousands of people to their farm in Tampico, Ill., for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Diana Catron and Lana (Larry) Musche, Carthage; four grandchildren, Lowell (Valerie) Catron, Jodi (Richard) Hodkin, James (Stacey) Musche, all of Carthage, and Carla (Tom) Morris, Parker, Colo.; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Thelma (Bill) Blum, Oregon, Ill.; one brother, Robert (Dorothy) Forward, Carl Junction, Mo.; several nieces, nephews, special friends, Paula Richardson, Carthage and Shirley Maes, Prophetstown, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, George Forward Jr., and three sisters, Edna Howlett, Frances Teer and Helen Forward.
Private graveside services will be held in Tampico Cemetery, Tampico, Ill. Grandson, Lowell Catron will officiate.
