Cyrus E. Rumfelt
PROPHETSTOWN – Cyrus E. Rumfelt, 51, of 319 East Ave., Prophetstown, formerly of Morrison, died Monday, July 4, 2011, at his home. He was a self-employed carpenter, and most recently worked for Bush Construction, Morrison.
He was born Nov. 16, 1959, in Sterling, the son of Lyman E. and Elizabeth J. (Remrey) Rumfelt. He married Sharon Farley on March 22, 1980, in Morrison. He was a member of Open Bible Fellowship, Morrison.
Survivors include his significant other, Robin Cooper of Prophetstown; three sons, Tony (Stacy Mager) Rumfelt, Marcus Rumfelt and Adam Rumfelt, all of Morrison; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Don) Ford of Grand Tower, Julie (Marty) Richards of Morrison and Elizabeth (Shawn) Varga of Lexington, Ky.; and three brothers, Charles (Nina) Rumfelt and Lyman (Lisa) Rumfelt, both of Morrison, and Robert (Deb) Rumfelt of Opelika, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, Morrison. Cremation rites will be accorded. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Steve Harmon, associate pastor of Open Bible Fellowship, Morrison, officiating. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.
A memorial has been established to glycogen storage disease type IX research.
