Born: June 08, 1934 Died: January 10, 2011 Services: Visitation: STERLING Donald W. Howlett, 76, of Sterling, IL, died Monday, January 10, 2011, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling, IL. Don was born June 8, 1934 in Tampico, IL, the son of Wayne and Edna M. (Forward) Howlett. He served in the National Guard. He married Joann H. Dettman on November 12, 1954 in Rock Falls, IL. He was employed by NorthWestern Steel & Wire of Sterling for 30 years, retiring in 1985. Survivors include his wife, Joann Howlett of Sterling; 4 daughters, Luana (Denny) Rude of Sterling, Michelle (Joe) Wilhelmi of Dixon, Melissa (Ray) Woessner of Milledgeville and Marsha (Sean) Bowers of North Aurora, IL; 2 sons, Michael (Tammy) Howlett of Walnut and Marv Howlett of Sterling; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. Private graveside services will be held at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, is in charge of arrangements. |
