Howard F. Foley
A prayer service for Howard F. Foley, 79,
of Rock Falls, IL., will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Wednesday, Garland Funeral Home, Tampico,
IL, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Tampico. The Rev. Anthony Pantyra, pastor,
will officiate.
Born Oct. 3, 1921, near Harmon, IL, the
son of Joseph and Grace Johnson Foley, he
died Sunday, Oct. 15,2000, at the Sterling Pavilion.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery,
Tampico.
Mr. Foley farmed in the Deer Grove, Rock
Falls and Walnut area during his lifetime
and retired from farming about 30 years ago.
He was then employed at Lawrence Brothers
Manufacturing in Sterling, where he
worked for about 15 years. He was a member
of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tampico
and the Sterling Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his sons, Patrick (Rita)
Foley of Lake Zurich and William Joseph
(Diane) Foley of Haddonfield, N.J.; four
grandchildren; brother, James (Marie) Fotey
of Sterling; sister, Mary Jeanette Arduini
of Rock Falls; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
wife, Mary E. (nee Burden), on April 1,1997,
whom he married on Nov. 23,1946, in Tampico;
brother, Joseph; and sister, Benice.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, at
the funeral home, with a rosary recited at
7:45 p.m.
A memorial has been established in his
memory.
