Tampico - Ruby M. Newman, age 92, of Tampico, Illinois died on Wednesday December 14, 2011 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, Illinois.

She was born on June 12, 1919 in Xenia, Illinois, the daughter of Harvey and Nancy (Weems) Hunter.
Ruby was united in marriage to Warren Newman on June 30, 1937, he preceded her in death on September 14, 1990.
She was a homemaker and Stanley Home Dealer. Member of Tampico United Methodist Church, O.E.S. of Prophetstown and was a Cub Scout Leader.

Ruby is survived by her daughter Gayle Blackert of Tampico, Illinois;
two grandchildren Jaramie (Jackie)Pierceson, Jenee Blackert; four great grandchildren Jordan, Brennan, Jace, and Justin; a special friend Jack Comben.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Warren, two sons Harold and Lowell; two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held on Monday December 19 @ 10:30 AM at Garland Funeral Home in Tampico with Rev. Esther Lee, pastor of Tampico United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 6 PM at Garland Funeral Home in Tampico.
A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN HER MEMORY TO TAMPICO AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.
