Tampico - Lawrence T. Batten, age 75, of Tampico, Illinois died Wednesday at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, Illinois.
He was born on January 10, 1937 in Tampico, Illinois the son of Oliver and Eleanor (Beyer) Batten. He was united in marriage to Rose Isenhart on June 9, 1956 in Rock Falls, Illinois. He owned and operated Lawrence Batten Trucking since 1964.
He is survived by his wife Rose Batten of Tampico, Illinois; two sons Todd Batten of Tampico, Illinois; Scott (Shari) Batten of Deer Grove, Illinois; six grandchildren Brandy (Justin) Cucci, Brandon Batten (Ashley), Hunter Batten, Kacey Batten, Devan Batten, Ayden Batten; one great grandchild Alexander Cucci; four sister Mary Kuepker of Flanagan, Illinois, Rosalie (Don) Mini of Sublette, Illinois, Joyce Sandrock of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Rita (Jerry) Beraneck of Rock Falls, Illinois, one sister in law Mary Ann Batten; one brother Howard (Pat) Batten of Tampico ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Bob, and one brother Lowell.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico with C.J. “Butch” McNinch, officiating. Burial of cremains will be at a later date. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. . A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN HIS MEMORY.
