ATKINSON, Ill. -- Vincent E. DeCrane, of Atkinson, Ill., died Sunday, January 9, 2005, at Trinity Medical Center-Wes Campus, Rock Island. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Atkinson. Monsignor Don Fitzpatrick will celebrate. Burial will be in the St. Anthony's Cemetery, Atkinson. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Vandemore Funeral Home, Atkinson, where a rosary will be recited at 4:45 pm. Memorials may be left to the Vincent DeCrane Memorial Fund. Vincent was born January 26, 1926, in Atkinson, the son of Edward and Augusta (DeSutter) DeCrane. He married Ann Verstreet on February 15, 1947, in Moline, Ill. Vincent was a dairy farmer and later worked at the Chicago Stockyard Atkinson Market, Atkinson. He most recently worked as a mechanic at the former Empire Equipment Co., Geneseo. He was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Atkinson, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Vincent enjoyed doing puzzles, fixing engines and repairs for people. Survivors include his wife, Ann; one son and spouse, Alan and Cindy DeCrane, Bloomington, Ill.; three daughters and spouses, Diane and Richard Egert, Bolingbrook, Ill., Carolyn and Ron Pifkin, Stone Valley, Ill., and Janice and Duian "Farmer" Wyffels, Atkinson, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Dale DeCrane, Tampico, Ill.; and one sister, Marjore Causemaker, Annawan, Ill.
