PROPHETSTOWN, Ill. — Alan Vetter, 60, of Rock Island died Monday, April 7, 2014, at Trinity Hospital Rock Island.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home, Prophetstown, with the Rev. Cheri Stewart, pastor at Prophetstown United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Hooppole (Ill.) Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established.
Alan was born April 10, 1953, in Morrison, Ill., to Charles F. and Elizabeth (Marshall) Vetter.
Alan was a 1971 graduate of Annawan (Ill.) High School. He was engaged in farming with his father in the rural Hooppole area.
Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Vetter-Swanson, East Moline; a sister, Laurie (Greg) Christian, East Moline; a brother, Jeff Vetter, Denver, Colo.; two nieces, Adrienne Vetter and Valerie Christian; a nephew, Anthony (Stephanie Thompson) Christian; two great-nephews, Cameron and Cayden Christian.
He was preceded by his father, Charles F. Vetter; and a niece, Katherine Vetter.
