Dennis P. Driessens, age 71 of Tampico, Illinois died Friday, July 10, 2015 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
Dennis was born on December 9, 1943 in Deer Grove, Illinois the son of Kamil and Bertha (VanPayrs) Driessens. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Konneck in Morrison, Illinois on February 24, 1978. Dennis was a Tampico Volunteer Fireman for 30 years and was a Whiteside County Sheriff Dispatcher for many years. He worked at RB & W for many years, owned and operated 5th Quarter in Tampico for 9 years and retired from the United States Postal Service after over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn Driessens of Tampico, Illinois; one daughter Re Ann Holbrock of Colona, Illinois two sons Kevin (Trinda) Driessens, Scott (Dana) Konneck of Sheffield, Illinois; his mother Bertha Driessens of Tampico, Illinois; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two brothers Donald (Pat) Driessens of Rock Falls, Illinois, Darrell (Lynette) Driessens of Nevada and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 4 p.m. July 14, 2015 at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico with Father Richard Kramer officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Garland Funeral Home with rosary at 12:30 p.m.. Cremations rites will be accorded after the service.
