Richard J. Thiem, age 60, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
Richard was born April 25, 1955, in Fort Madison, Iowa the son of Shirley Bean and stepfather, Robert Bean. He was employed at Lawrence Brothers in Sterling for many years.Survivors include his daughter, Whitney (Blake Marsh) Thiem of Tampico; two sons, Anthony (Jaime) Thiem of Portland, Ore. and Adam (Kate McNinch) Thiem of Tampico; two sisters, Becky (Dan) Norcott and Susan (Wade) Mathias of Ariz; one brother, Michael Thiem of Ariz.; three granddaughters; and the mother of his children, Marsha Thiem.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his stepfather; and one brother, Timothy Thiem.

A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, November 15, 2015, from 2 – 3 PM at Tampico Baptist Church. A memorial service will be Sunday at 3:00 PM at the church with Carlos McNinch officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls.
