GEORGEA MAE CLEVER
Georgea Mae Clever, 95, of Prophetstown, died on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
She was born on February 15, 1923 in Rock Falls to George and Charlotte (Penny) Sprankle. She married George Clever on December 22, 1945. He preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Prophetstown. Georgea enjoyed needlework, crocheting, and gardening. She loved all animals but was especially fond of cats. She volunteered for many years at Prophet Good Samaritan Home. Georgea served as a medical transcriptionist during World War II at what is now Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke Medical Center in Chicago.
Surviving are her three daughters, Judith (Dale) Howard, of Prophetstown, Catherine Mazzoni of Palm Desert, Calif. and Deborah (Michael) Ulrich of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey; her son, Richard (Glenda) Clever of Crystal Lake; seven grandchildren, Kristie (Patrick) Drennen, of Erie, Justin (Angie) Pipenhagen, of Elburn, and Neil Pipenhagen; Brett Mazzoni, of Palm Desert, Calif., and Whitney Clever; Kyle Ulrich of Maryland and Blythe Ulrich of North Carolina; five great grandchildren including, Carson Pipenhagen, Brooklyn Pipenhagen, and Charlotte Drennen; and one great-great granddaughter, Autumn Elizabeth. She also was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Elizabeth.
Cremation rites have been accorded and graveside services will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established in her memory to Granny Rose Animal Shelter in Dixon.
Arrangements are through McDonald Funeral Home and Crematory in Prophetstown.
