FORMER TAMPICO RESIDENT DIES IN PRINCETON
Mrs. Gustave Peterson of Princeton formerly a resident of this vicinity passed away at her home Monday morning from infirmities of age. Death came to her peacefully while she slept, as she had not been ill and had not complained of feeling bad any more than is usual for one of her advanced age. Her daughter, Miss Clara Peterson had passed through her room and had been at work at her household duties without calling her mother, but upon going to her room found that she had quietly passed away. Miss Mary Larson was born in Sweden, January 24, 1843. She was married to Mr. Gustave Peterson at Princeton, Illinois 51 years ago and the greater part of her life had been spent in Bureau and Whiteside Counties. For a number of years, they resided on their farm two miles east of Tampico, retiring from active farm life and moving to Princeton about 17 years ago. She was the mother of six children, two daughters, and four sons. Mrs. Tillie Christensen of Hahnaman, Clara at home, Theodore of Malta, Charles of Grand Ridge and Oscar of Tampico, who with the husband still survive to mourn her departure. One son, Clarence having passed away eleven years ago. The funeral services will be held at the Swedish Lutheran church at Princeton, Wednesday afternoon, June 8th at 2:30 and interment made in the cemetery at Princeton. Mrs. Peterson was a splendid type of Christian *****life the teachings of her Christ. She was a very quiet woman always looking for some kindness to do for someone. She was truly a mother and will be sorely missed in the home circle.
