Laurence Levi Kropf 83 of Maquoketa, IA, formerly from Tampico, IL, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Springbrook Amish-Mennonite Church, 14257 308th Ave., Bellevue, Iowa. Visitation will be 2:00 pm 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Springbrook Amish-Mennonite Church. Burial will be in the Springbrook Amish-Mennonite Cemetery.
Laurence was born July 7, 1935 in Shelby Co., IL, the son of Raymond and Esther (Shrock) Kropf. Laurence married Ada Marie Miller on December 26, 1969 at Nappanee, Indiana. He spent over 40 years as a custom Sheep Shearer, and did custom Cider Pressing for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Ada; sons, Joseph (Sheryl) Kropf and Nathan (Angela) Kropf; 14 grandchildren; siblings, Harold (Rosanna) Kropf, Oran (Miriam) Kropf, and Lovina Kropf; brother and sister in-law, Fannie Kropf, Wayne Kropf.
Laurence was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Lamoine; siblings, Leonard, Ivan, and Fern.
