PROPHETSTOWN – Arlyn Koehler, 78 of rural Prophetstown died Friday July 12, 2019 at his home.
He was born on April 28, 1941 in Prophetstown, the son of Carl and Ida (Streitmatter) Koehler. He married Kay Nelson on January 27, 1962 in Manlius. Arlyn farmed in the Tampico - Prophetstown area for 60 years. He was a member of the Tampico United Methodist Church; a past member of the Farm Bureau Board; a past member of the Tampico School Board; a member of the Tampico Lions Club and a member of the Prophetstown Masonic Lodge 293 AF & AM.
Survivors include his wife, Kay; his son Douglas (Toni) Koehler of Prophetstown; his daughters: Debra (Kent) Ackerman of Prophetstown, Marsha (Steve) Johnson of Sterling, Michelle (Chris) Hanlon of Acton, Massachusetts and Kim (Troy) Purvis of Prophetstown; his sisters Geri Cassens of Prophetstown, Shirley Temple of Scottsdale, AZ and Betty Lou Benner of Tyler, TX; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 16, 2019, beginning with a Masonic Rites Ceremony at 3:30 p.m., followed by a visitation 4 – 7 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. The funeral will follow Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Tampico United Methodist Church with the Reverend LeAnne Keate officiating. Burial will conclude at Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
