Myrna D. Schauff, 84 died Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Heritage Health in Walnut.
She was born on July 26, 1935 in Kansas, IL the daughter of Herman and A. Olive (Childress) Hallman. She was a graduate of Walnut High School and Sterling School of Beauty. She married Gerald Schauff on February 16, 1957 in Walnut. Myrna was a breast cancer survivor since 1965. She was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tampico and served as a past president of the Altar and Rosary Society. She had also served as past secretary of the National Farmers Organization, Whiteside County Chapter. Myrna worked tirelessly as a farm wife, and mother of six. In addition, she had worked at the former Peerless Level Co. in Walnut and the former Tyco Company in Sterling.
Surviving is her husband, Gerald; six children: Denise (Gary) Mosher of Rock Falls, Donna (Bernard) Holtkamp of Clinton, IA, Daniel (Kristine) Schauff of Galt, Debra (Robert) Weir of Rock Falls, David (Jodi) Schauff of Polo and Deana Newman of Tampico; her sister- in- laws: Rita Hallman of Walnut and Lenore Hallman of Texas; 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: David and Devon Hallman; her sisters, Myril Buhler and Mona Prestley.
Visitation will be held on Thursday August 15, 2019 from 5-7 PM at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico preceded by the Rosary being recited at 4:45 PM. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday at 10 AM in St. Mary Catholic Church in Tampico. Burial will conclude at St. Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
