STERLING – Raymond H. Braggo, age 101, formerly of Amboy died Friday, September 13, 2019 at Avonlea Cottage in Sterling.
Raymond was born on August 28, 1918 in Oglesby the son of Charles and Rose C. (Foltynewicz) Braggo. He was united in marriage to Geraldine L. Lee on December 19, 1941 in Kahoka, Mo. She preceded him in death on January 20, 2010. They farmed in the Prophetstown and Amboy area until retiring. He was a lifetime member of the Green River Saddle Club, a member of the Sterling Moose and enjoyed fishing and spending time with family.
He is survived by three daughters, Rita (Howard) Wilson of Mineral Point, Wis., Nancy (Greg) Forward of Tampico and Cathy Schultz of Amboy; ten grandchildren, Jeff (Dawn) Wilson of Amboy, Doug (Shannon) Wilson of Cobb, Wis., Amy (Troy) Feuss of DeWitt, Iowa, Lori (Bill) Althaus of Sublette, Paul Forward of Tampico, Gary (Jody) Forward of Prophetstown, Karin (Kevin) Quest of LaMoille, Gillian Schultz of Kings, Holly (Mark) Oprin of Dixon and Noelle (Dustin) Brown of Sycamore; granddaughter –in-law, Mandi Forward of Tampico; many great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; one sister, Florence Rosander of Amboy and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Scott Forward; one granddaughter, Angela Bulfer; two brothers, Leo and William Braggo and one nephew.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Private memorial services will be held at a later date at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Amboy. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.
