ROCK FALLS – Lois A. Richmond, 79, died Monday, July 10, 2017, at Heritage Health of Walnut. She was employed as a waitress with Tampico Lounge for several years, retiring in 1999.
Lois was born July 24, 1937, in Sterling, the daughter of Chester and Alpha (Johnson) Wolber. She married William Richmond on April 19, 1969, in Sterling. She was a member of First Christian Church of Walnut.
She is survived by her husband of Rock Falls; one daughter, JoAnne (Tony) Lybarger of Dixon; five sons, Richard (Ida) Vary of Walnut, Alan (Roxanne) Vary of Charter Oak, Iowa, Steve (Renee) Vary of Dowell City, Iowa, Michael Vary of Rock Falls, and Thomas Vary of Roseville; five sisters, Carol Spears of Prophetstown, Barb DeWald of Rock Falls, Joyce Sandrock of Sterling, Donna Jean Walgren of Mount Morris, and Alverta Habben of Rockford; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Charles Wolber; and one sister, Jenna Lee Kulas.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Moore of First Christian Church of Walnut officiating. Burial will be at Tampico Memorial Cemetery in Tampico.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Rock Falls American Legion Post 902 Ladies Auxiliary.
